Acorn, USA, Excellent, Relatable Resource There are few books this good on this topic. I've read a few books on shyness but most lack two things that this one has. Firstly, this book is well-structured and comprehensive, whereas most others are one-dimensional. What I mean by that is that all aspects of the topic are covered here and it is done in a logical and easily-accessible manner. For instance, there is a chapter on listening and, in particular, active listening. Most other books in this area miss the fact that communication problems and social anxiety must be tackled as a two-way street - you must know how to listen as well as know what to say and when to say it. The second differentiating factor this book has is that it is easy to relate to the material presented as they author shares personal experiences. Most other books I have read either go down the dry academic fact-filled route or preach to you to follow some magic wand approach. Marissa, USA, So Helpful! Coming from someone who has suffered with social anxiety for years, this book provides practical, easy-to-implement strategies for overcoming social anxiety and building stronger relationships. The author's writing style is relatable and easy to understand, and the tips and techniques provided can significantly impact readers' lives. Whether you are dealing with social anxiety or simply looking to improve your communication and relationships, this book is a valuable resource. Bob M. USA, Anxious? As someone who has suffered with crippling anxiety, talking to people is always difficult. I just never know what to say. And because I never know what to say, I never know what to do either. This book does a good job of guiding you through the process of orienting yourself to get in a more social mood so that you can allow yourself to naturally communicate Catherine Auman LMFT, USA, Great Resource for the Socially Anxious As a psychotherapist, I've come to the conclusion that many people's issues would be improved if they had better skills at reaching out to others and were able to more easily make friends. Depression, anxiety, and substance abuse are often caused or exacerbated by loneliness and isolation. This is a great book for people to learn the nuts and bolts of conversation and reaching out. The author's tone is friendly and warm, and even the socially skilled will pick up a few tips.
