Harold Bell Wright, a well-known American author, speaker, and clergyman who lived from May 4, 1872, to May 24, 1944, is most remembered for his widely read books from the early 20th century. Wright was raised in a pious Baptist household and was raised in Rome, New York. His early upbringing was heavily influenced by religion, which laid the groundwork for his future work as a writer and clergyman. Before focusing on the ministry, Wright attended Boston University College of Oratory to further his studies in music. Although he was a pastor in many places, he gained widespread notoriety for his literary works. Wright pursued his writing career in addition to his ministry work, giving sermons and discussing social and theological concerns.
