Over almost 30 years, she has driven local, national, and international changes in policy, strategy, and practice relating to staff and student wellbeing in healthcare and higher education settings. She has published extensively on health and wellbeing for nurses and midwives, and is Editor of the IJERPH 'Workplace Health and Wellbeing During and After Covid-19'. She has responded to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic by spearheading numerous initiatives focused on healthcare education, and research on the psychological wellbeing of health and care professionals and the development and implementation of supportive interventions.
