"""""This is an audacious and fascinating book by a philosopher who sets out to solve some of the Bible's most vexing interpretive puzzles. Murphy is simultaneously clear, nuanced, learned, and creative. As a concise primer on biblical ethics, this book is unsurpassed. I know of no better book to put in the hands of someone who wants to know if and how the Bible can be a useful source for thinking our way through ethical dilemmas today."""" --William T. Cavanaugh, Director of the Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology, DePaul University; author of Theopolitical Imagination """"This is a pithy, provocative, and profound meditation on the deep ethical unity of the Bible and its enduring wisdom and guidance for people of faith. You can read this book in an evening--but study it for a long time, particularly its skillful blending of biblical texts and teachings on some of the most controversial moral questions of our day."""" --John Witte Jr., Director, Center for the Study of Law and Religion, Emory University"
