Children's and Johns Hopkins Hospitals and a fellowship at Kennedy Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He served as Director of Developmental Neuropsychiatry at The Kennedy Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital (1976-92) and Director of Child Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins (1978-82). He was appointed Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1997. He has authored 109 scientific articles and chapters, five books and 148 Art and Images in Psychiatry. Joseph T Coyle, MD received his BA from Holy Cross College, MD from Johns Hopkins University and completed a pediatric internship and a residency in Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He served as the Director of Child Psychiatry at Hopkins (1982-91) and was appointed the Eben S. Draper Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at Harvard Medical School in 1991 and was also appointed the academic Chairman of Psychiatry (1991-2001). He has authored over 600 scientific articles and chapters and 13 books. He was elected to the National Academy of Medicine (1991) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (1994).
