Author Information

Describing herself as a 'pilgrim and storyteller', Joan seeks to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, and shares her journey through blogging, devotional and fiction writing. She is the author of The Poison Tree Path Chronicles. The first book of this trilogy, Chains of Gwyndorr, won the 2017 Illumination award for YA Fiction. Her three other books, Encounters: Life Changing Moments with Jesus, Journeys: On Ancient Paths of Faith and Soul Search: Questions Jesus Asked are collections of short stories, reflections, prayers and art. Encounters was translated into French by Scripture Union France, and published as Des rencontres qui ont tout changé. As a trustee for Media Associates International (MAI), Joan has trained Christian writers in South Africa, Ghana, Botswana, Hungary, Singapore and Mexico. Besides her training function with MAI, she also co-hosts their online poetry group, and builds community in her communication and social media role for the ministry. The Harem Scrolls is Joan's first full length historical fiction novel. Joan lives in Johannesburg, South Africa with her husband and two daughters.
