[A] remarkably absorbing, supremely entertaining joint biography of two Hollywood legends. -- New York Times Book Review Actor and veteran narrator Colacci reads in a deep, resonant voice that conveys a sense of two men reflecting on long, eventful lives. He embellishes quotations from both actors and their contemporaries with subtle accents, including shades of Stewart's drawl, Fonda's twang, and even Marlene Dietrich's German accent. Negotiating the large cast of characters that populated the men's lives, Colacci's interpretations never feel forced or unnatural. Fans of Hollywood stories will appreciate this satisfying presentation of Stewart and Fonda's shared history. -- Booklist (audio review) An absorbing dual portrait of two riveting, contrasting performers. -- Wall Street Journal Narrator David Colacci's deep and exacting baritone is a perfect choice for these quintessentially American stories. His precise, unhurried, and nuanced performance adds an additional layer to the meaningful text...This is a must-listen for classic film buffs and those wishing to introduce themselves to two special practitioners of cinematic art. -- AudioFile While their long-standing friendship is notable, in tracing their personal lives and accomplishments, Eyman's narrative is even more compelling. He provides a fascinating overview of the industry and the ebbs and flows of his subjects' careers in film, on stage, and eventually TV...An entertaining, richly documented biography. -- Kirkus Reviews (starred review) [A] smart, generous chronicle. -- Washington Post
