Author Information

Themis P. Exarchos was born in Ioannina, Greece. He received the Diploma Degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, in 2003. He is currently working toward his PhD degree in Medical Physics at the University of Ioannina. His research interests include data mining, decision support systems in healthcare, biomedical applications including biomedical imaging and bioinformatics Athanasios Papadopoulos was born in Ioannina, Greece. He received his bachelor degree in physics from the Deptartment of Physics, University of Ioannina in 1994, his master�s degree in medical physics from the Department of Physics, University of Surrey, Guildford, UK in 1995 and his PhD degree in Medical Physics from the Deptartment of Medical Physics, Medical School, University of Ioannina in 2006. His research interests include medical image processing and analysis, decision support systems, artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering. Dimitrios I. Fotiadis was born in Ioannina, Greece (1961). He received the Diploma degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and the PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, (USA). Since 1995, he has been in the Dept. of Computer Science, University of Ioannina, Greece, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is the director of the Unit of Medical Technology and Intelligent Information Systems. His research interests include biomedical technology, biomechanics, scientific computing and intelligent information systems.
