English summary: Whether a text can claim to have value as a work of art can be assessed in an important way on the structure of its ending. Until now, literary studies have hardly concerning itself with a systematic study of the end. This work addresses that lacuna in terms of narrative texts from medieval Germany. Methodologically, this work describes the endings of each text as interaction of the end of the plot, the conclusion of the text, and the material end of the text. There are some 30 texts which are historically analyzed in detail, ranging in date of composition from the 9th to the 16th century. The Old High German literature proves itself to have been shaped by oral structures and to have searched after a quasi-formulaic conclusion. Hartmann von Aue independently developed in his narrative texts a divergence from the conceptual models of the conclusion. Each one of the German-language Tristan narratives, through its own interpretation of the material, indicates the shape of the conclusion. Late medieval narratives of adultery attempt to initiate and to govern the connective communication. Die Literaturwissenschaft jedoch hat sich bislang kaum systematisch mit dem Ende befasst. Diesem Desiderat entspricht vorliegende Arbeit in Bezug auf erzahlende Texte des deutschen Mittelalters. Methodisch wird dazu jedes Textende als Zusammenspiel von Handlungsende, Textschluss und materiellem Textende beschrieben. Historisch werden etwa 30 Texte aus dem Zeitraum vom 9. bis zum 16. Jahrhundert detailliert untersucht. Dabei erweist sich die althochdeutsche Literatur als strukturell mundlich gepragt und strebt einen quasi formelhaften Schluss an. Hartmann von Aue entwickelt in seinen erzahlenden Texten eigenstandige, von den Vorlagen abweichende Schlusskonzeptionen. Je eigene Deutungsabsichten des Stoffes zeigen die Schlussgestaltungen der deutschsprachigen Tristandichtungen. Spatmittelalterliche Erzahlungen vom Ehebruch versuchen, Anschlusskommunikation zu initiieren und zu steuern.
