Grumman was a station stop along the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road and was opened February 2, 1942 for employees of Grumman Aviation, at the Grumman Bethpage Airport. Wooden shelter sheds were built at the station which was relocated in 1951 when South Oyster Bay Road was realigned for the extended runway. The station finally closed in 1985.
