Jane was brought up in Chorley, Lancashire, then went to York University, where she obtained a BA degree in English and Related Literature. She then worked for many years in the Housing and Social Services Departments of Councils in the Cambridge area. Jane's passionate interest in family history research has developed over the last 13 years with a growing fascination for local history and the First World War. When Jane decided to research the Barnsley Holgate Grammar School War Memorial for the Centenary, she had no idea how difficult it would be to identify then research the lives of 76 strangers. However, she was determined to pay tribute to these brave young men by finding out as much as possible about them all. Although she has written a number of published articles on various subjects, this Memorial Book is Jane's first book and it is the result of more than two years' dedicated and almost all-consuming research. These men and their relations so far discovered now feel like Jane's own extended family. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
