Overview

A three-level course taking young adults and adults from beginner to pre-intermediate level. There are students' books, teacher's books, workbooks and cassettes at each level, as well as an integrated but optional video component. Rapid vocabulary development within a carefully controlled structural progression is one feature of the course's approach to help learners achieve early communicative confidence. The emphasis in the first level is on oral/aural work, but from the start reading and writing skills are steadily developed in the forty student's book units and in the four additional double-page extensive reading/listening texts introduced regularly into the course. The accompanying interleaved teacher's book contains comprehensive guidelines and suggestions for further exploitation and additional optional activities. The video is tied in to selected, reguarly placed student's book units, offering an alternative presentation method for the teaching points in those units and forming for each level of the course a review of the major items covered.
