OverviewExplore the shadowy depths of Gothic Nightmares, a collection of two tales by Mike Dubisch that masterfully intertwines the grotesque with the sublime. In The Shifting Woman, readers are transported to a carnival where the bizarre is commonplace. A man becomes fixated on a contortionist known as the Shifting Woman, whose performance blurs the lines between human and supernatural, seduction and repulsion. As he delves deeper into the carnival's nocturnal world, he encounters a spectacle that forever alters his perception of beauty and horror. The Homunculust presents a starkly different setting-a small, forgotten state where Theo, an alchemist, strives to transcend traditional science's limits with his homunculi creations. Commissioned by the wealthy to fulfill their darkest fantasies, Theo's moral compass spirals as his creations become increasingly sentient and sinister. The story questions the ethics of creation and the price of human desire. Gothic Nightmares is an invitation to confront the darker side of human nature through Dubisch's haunting narrative and striking illustrations.
