In the novel she discovers who her true family is and it's not who she could have ever dreamt it would be. This novel takes you through a young woman's journey to finding her own life and coming to terms with her past in the present. Dee has a love for fast cars and fixing them. She was looked after by a local garage owner named, Sal. He is your typical bachelor for life that ends up being more of a father to his Dee Girl. She started working with Sal at the age of twelve, just so she could eat. Dee is a character you can't help but to love because of her sheer determination. Dee finds out that although she has felt completely alone her whole life, she never actually was. She had a guardian angel or maybe a guardian goon looking after her. After her father bails again for the millionth time, she finds herself alone on her graduation night and accidentally lets her guard down on a phone call with a deep voiced man looking for her father, Brian. Brian is a gambling addict, that has always put his need to gamble before his daughter. When a handsome man comes into the shop, Dee has no clue he's the guy that will change her life forever. He literally knocks her over the head and kidnaps her and carries her into his world, but with a weird gentleness. She never thought the guy that kidnapped her, wouldn't be the one to actually try to kill her. Will her love for this new goon save her from her past goon?
