Fabulous book. A must read if you are going to the area. Beyond a guide book. Insider info is invaluable, it added to our holiday. Dianne Louise - 5 Star Review on Amazon There is nothing else like it; travel guides re Murcia are generally poor however this one is a great read with lots of pertinent info. Stef - 5 Star Review on Amazon Very thoroughly researched with a bright, chatty but not irritating style. I find a lot of guides rather snotty and written from only one viewpoint (the most politically correct one) - Lonely Planet are a prime example - they tend never to look below the surface or understand that different people like different things. This book is a breath of fresh air. I would thoroughly recommend this guide for anyone interested in holidaying and/or investing in this area. Amazon Review I bought the first edition of this book when I put a deposit down on a property in Murcia some years ago and it became my Murcia bible, and now that I live in the Murcia region part of the year I bought the updated version. It is probably the most informative book I have on the Murcia region, and I have a few, but this one stands out as it gives information on the whole of the region and not just the Mar Menor and the La Manga area. There are so many beautiful places to see in Murcia that are hidden little gems and this book is fantastic at helping you find all those lovely places . Bryan Crookston - 5 Star Review on Amazon This guide was detailed and factual but also written in a personal style which encouraged us to explore an area which is a second home to us. We ventured further afield and enjoyed our forays to new areas. Looking forward to many more visits and opportunities to explore many more town and villages in this lovely part of Spain. Lynda - 5 Star Review on Amazon Excellent book on Murcia. I have found many villages, restaurants which I would not have found otherwise. The authors really know the area can't wait to discover the area and try out some of the suggestions. Kezar - 5 Star Review on Amazon Been living in the Murcia region for almost 2 years now, and have found this book most useful. Not only is it informative and well written, it is also entertaining, with nice short stories of every day life in the region. Have recommended to many of my friends, who also share my opinion. A must buy, if you are planning to visit or live in Murcia. Maru - 5 Star Review on Amazon

Author Information

Debbie Jenkins has a 1st Class Degree in Electronics Engineering and has run her own businesses for the last 25 years. She was the co-owner of a marketing and publishing company where she commissioned, edited and published 80 books in the coaching, self-improvement and small business development fields. She now runs www.chaosification.com an online resource for creative people with too many ideas and not enough time. Debbie has lived in Murcia since 2005, when she moved with her husband to a cave house in La Murta, near Corvera. In 2015, they separated and later divorced. She now owns the #DisasterFarm in the foothills of the Algarrobo mountains near La Pinilla. Debbie is bilingual (English & Spanish) and lives in Spain with her cats, dogs, goats and horses, and Italian partner Giorgio. Russ Pearce lives with his wife Trish in Guardamar del Segura, Alicante. A keen photographer and writer of the blog www.anythingbutpaella.com, Russ sustains his life in Spain by teaching English, mostly online. A former air traffic controller, his specialisation is helping fellow controllers and pilots from around the world to improve their English in the aviation field. After giving up controlling in 2003, Russ went off to university to gain a degree in travel and tourism management. With Trish also at a career crossroads, they made the decision to pack everything up and go to Argentina where they gained TEFL certificates and embarked on a journey of adventure around the world for the best part of a decade. Teaching assignments in Syria, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, Libya and even Scotland were all negotiated before an opportunity came up to work in Pamplona. A year later they left for Barcelona before fate drew them down to the Alicante province. Five years on and Guardamar is firmly their home, but travel remains their passion. Giving their itchy feet the occasional good scratch, they have travelled extensively throughout Spain. Of course, there is still a longing for the exotic from time to time so trips to South East Asia or backpacking around southern Africa are still frequently on the agenda. If you want to read more about their global travels, take a look at www.mytb.org/rrruss.
