OverviewPlease note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Glen Innes Train Station is located on the Eastern Line of the Auckland Railway Network. It has an island platform layout. Every hour it has two services towards Papakura and two towards Britomart (Auckland). In 2006 the station had a major upgrade and is one of the most used non-terminus stations by the public. Stations were formerly generally owned by the Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA), bearing its MAXX brand, and the rail infrastructure by ONTRACK / KiwiRail. However, after National government cancelled a regional fuel tax intended to finance the expansion of the network, the resulting funding gap forced the Auckland Regional Council to effectively cede control over the stations to ensure continued maintenance could be financed.
