Overview

"""Americans don't have many art forms that are truly American. Most of them come from Europe or wherever. Jazz and Westerns are the only two I can think of which are American art forms.""--Clint Eastwood The best possible photo book on jazz signed by the most dedicated photographer of all time; an impressive collection of musicians' portraits. Giuseppe Pino has the most in-depth access to the great stars of jazz, from Miles Davis to Gil Evans, from Dizzy Gillespie to Ella Fitzgerald, from Chet Baker to Count Basie, from Duke Ellington to Louis Armstrong and many more; dozens of great artists portrayed in private and onstage in a book that is the result of 30 years' work."
