Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationWilfried Bauer (b. 1963) studied geology at the RWTH Aachen University and earned his PhD in 1995 with a study of the metamorphic basement of the northern Heimefrontfjella in Antarctica. He continued his research on the Precambrian of Dronning Maud Land (Antarctica) and the southern Urals (Russia) as a Principal Researcher at Aachen University. From 2005 to 2007 he was a Senior Survey Geologist at the British Geological Survey and worked for its International Department on a World Bank funded project in Madagascar. From 2007 to 2014 he was head of the research and development section of an Australian exploration company in Madagascar.
