OverviewGeogenomics - Organisation of the Genosphere develops further an associative and integrative view on the genetic component of the biosphere established in two previous monographs The Genosphere: the genetic system of the biosphere the Russian version of which was published in 1991 and English version in 1997 (Savchenko, 1991; Sauchanka, 1997) and Coenogenetics: genetics of biotic communities (Sauchanka, 2001, 2002). These works were based on the system methodology and were oriented towards building the bridge between modern system biology including its molecular, organisms and population levels and the planetary system science. The system approach gives the possibility for the emerging geogenomics to mobilise, absorb and integrate the vast data produced by classical genetics and its new molecular branches such as genomics and proteomics for elucidation and understanding of the global planetary role of existing diversity of species genomes in their concerted interactions within local and regional ecosystems. Finally each genome consists of the genetic information defining the species' role in the biosphere i.e. whether it will be producer, consumer or decomposer and where their distribution area within the biosphere will be spread - in the equatorial tropical forests or in the polar tundra. The book includes chapters covering Earth System and Biodiversity; Biosphere Genetics; Genosphere; Coenogenomics and Coenogenomic Cooperation, Exploitation and Competition; Species Genome, Horizontal Transfer and Genome Modification; Phylogenomic Tree; Genosphere Self-Organisation and Complexity.
