Dr. Muhammad Qamar Khan is currently a professor (assistant), a Textile Engineer (passed out in 2013) from National Textile University, Pakistan. He did Ph.D. in engineering with a focus on nanofiber based composites for functional Textiles & Biomedical from Japan in 2019. He has experience working with known national industries dealing with textiles. He has been working at Karachi Campus of National Textile University since 2013. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, 12 book chapters, and 20 conference communications. 06 MS engineering students have completed their degrees under his supervision. He is working on one funded R&D project worth PKR. 11 million as Principal Investigator and working as co-PI in other project worth PKR 220 (1.2 million USD) are in progress. During his tenure as chairman department of Textile & Clothing he started three new undergraduate programs and one MS program for the growth of Karachi Campus. He also established the nanotechnology research lab with worth 20 million PKR. Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawab (Co-Editor) is currently a professor (tenured), a gold medalist engineer (passed out in 2004) from National Textile University, Pakistan. He did Ph.D. in engineering with a focus on fiber-reinforced composite materials from Université de Nantes, France, and Post-doc & HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from University of Le Havre Normandy, France. He has experience working with known national and international industries dealing with textiles and composite materials. He has been working at National Textile University since 2013. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, 8 books, and 50 conference communications. Eleven Ph.D. and 55 MS engineering students have completed their degrees under his supervision. He has completed 24 funded R&D projects worth PKR. 158 million (One million USD), whereas 3 research projects worth PKR 231 million (1.9 million USD) are in progress. Heis leading as a Principal Investigator, the grand challenge Fund project “Enhancement of Global Competitiveness of Pakistani Textile Export Value-chains By Capacity Building and Product Diversification (www.knowtex.pk)” worth 207 million PKR (Sponsored by World Bank and Higher Education Commission, Pakistan) executed by a consortium of 4 universities and more than 20 textile industries. He is also leading Pakistani team in project “Improving access to sustainable energy in rural Pakistan using food and fiber agro-waste as a renewable fuel (SAFER)” funded by Innovate UK, to a consortium of Northumbria University and Eco-Research UK. He led development of several innovative technologies/ industrial solutions which are successfully licensed/transferred to industry for commercialization. He leads writing of policy papers as well as launching of startups. Prof. Ick Soo Kim is currently a professor in the Faculty of Biomedical & Textile Science, Shinshu University,Ueda Campus, Nagano, Japan. He is Director of the Institute for Fiber Engineering (IFES) and Special Advisor to the President of Shinshu University. He is a distinguished professor in his university. 50 PhD and 150 MS students have completed their degrees under his direct supervision. He has published more than 400 research articles and 100 patents. He earned 20 Million USD funding for his research projects till date and he established Nanofusion Technology Research lab in 2009. He led development of several innovative technologies/ industrial solutions which are successfully licensed/transferred to industry for commercialization. He leads writing of policy papers as well as launching of startups.
