Author Information

John Beckman is Emeritus Research Professor at the Astrophysics Institute of the Canaries. His research speciality is the dynamics and structure of galaxies. He has published over 400 articles in professional international journals, and contributed a similar number of articles to specialist conferences. He has given hundreds of talks to popular audiences on astronomical topics, has prepared a short documentary series about astronomy for Spanish Television, and previously was a regular invitee to the BBC´s popular astronomy programme “The Sky at Night”.
