Overview""Fundamental Legal Conceptions"" was first published as two articles in 1913 and 1917. In 1919 Yale University Press published the articles as a pamphlet edited by Walter Wheeler Cook. The pamphlet was entitled ""Fundamental Legal Conceptions, As Applied in Judicial Reasoning - And Other Legal Essays"". This pamphlet included some of the changes Hohfeld had intended to make before he died in 1918. Thus this title has appeared in several guises with forewords and introductions by many people. For this edition there is a foreword by Dr Nigel E. Simmonds of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, and the editors have corrected obvious errors and made a number of minor changes.
