Author Information

Captain Michael Graner, USCGR (Ret) served in the US Coast Guard for 26 years. He taught at the US Coast Guard Academy from 1983-1986 as a Humanities Instructor and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in Education. Following his active duty service, he joined the Coast Guard Reserve and served as Commanding Officer for two CG units. He then served as a high school principal and later Superintendent of Schools in Connecticut. After retiring as a school district leader, he now dedicates much of his time to writing.
