Overview

この本は英語と日本語の両方です。ウィリアム・アダムスは富を求めて航海しましたが、日本で難破した人質になってしまいました! 今、彼は将軍が武士になるための彼の価値を証明しなければなりません。 William Adams went sailing in search of riches but ended up a shipwrecked hostage in Japan! Now he must prove his worth for the Shogun to become a samurai. This historical fiction is based upon the true story of an English sailor's misadventure on a Dutch ship. His triumph over adversity makes this book particularly engaging for boys. It includes stylish anime/manga illustrations throughout. # 651 in the Bilingual Legends series: This book is in both English and Japanese.

Author Information

As an Australian poet, it's hard to find work in the Outback. But there are children all over the world struggling to learn how to read. Some of them have hardly any books in their native language. That's why I created the Bilingual Legends series - to give as many children as possible the opportunity to read a story in their own native language. Usually, the language each book in the series is published in will be one that's spoken in the land where that story originates. A typical book also includes the text in English, but in some cases another language is employed instead. I hope you enjoy reading my books! Hello, I'm Lily and I'm the illustrator for this book. I came from Sydney, Australia, and I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. As you can tell, I like to draw in a manga/anime style, and this inspiration has been drawn from multiple manga/anime I have enjoyed.I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and I hope I can pursue opportunities like these in the future. I used my fingers and IbisPaintX for the illustrations, which is a free iOS app. I hope the readers had an enjoyable experience with this book, both the story and illustrations. Kanta Tokunaga is a Japanese-English translator.
