Overview

"As any reader can see Easy could have been a neighbor or a good friend to anyone before prison. We aren't monsters in these human warehouses. Most of us deeply regret what put us in prison. Hating people like Easy won't address the issue and make the violations happen less. Hating people like Easy is exactly what the many for-profit entities involved with American criminal justice desire people to do. This makes the rest of their public relations campaigns relatively simple. This sex offense tool has become the major scare tactic in the vested interests portfolio of ways of keeping public opinion on the side of believing it is a justified thing to lock up people and hold them so long simply warehoused. This has been how things are in the ""justice"" system and have been for many years. Warehousing humans without trying to correct their behavior or truly prevent future violations."

Author Information

As those of you familiar with me are aware I have done 45 years of my lifetime in a prison cell. As of this writing I am still sitting in a prison cell. I came in at the age of 22 back in 1979. (To know what crime I did you just have to read my first book called 'Life with Parole'. It is available for a reader determined price over on the Smashwords.com Distribution website). This seems to be my path through this life on earth. I try to keep my head up and my heart strong as Ii just put one foot in front of the other. I have yet to let go completely of hope that I might live long enough to be free. Meanwhile, I want to contribute something to life and to others and because my own situation is so limiting I have made it occupational to attempt to put my voice outside of the walls I live behind. I have great knowledge of only one thing in this world. That is prison. Nevertheless, from that place there are so many stories worthy of someone writing them down and sharing them. There is every profession and every walk of life represented among the prisoners in our country. I am entertaining the idea that it may be interesting if someone wrote a series of books celebrating the positive time of life for people now serving time. I spent hours and hours letting 'Easy' tell me his story. He and his faithful dog, Willie, traveled together for years on the the open road. They actually drove Tina Turner's personal tour bus at one time. This is a simple humanizing attempt so perhaps some people who have previously bought the idea that prisoners have no value will acknowledge that often a prisoner is actually a neighbor who needs a little help catching up to what other people seem to have learned as children when it comes to how they interact with other people..
