Overview

From rookies to seasoned pros Don, Lee, Jock, and Fran Key absorbed every low blow Eurasia, Africa, and Australia threw at them before throwing in the towel after round 5. Europe excited the Four Keys Overseas virgins as it depleted their dollars with $3 Cokes, $7 gas, and $450 hotels. New Zealand and Australia spoke English with an accent Mate and showcased kiwis, kangaroos, koalas, and kickgroin footie. Egypt exacted tons of tribute, while touched by terrorism, and thrilled the troops at three am on the top of the Great Pyramid. Spain, Portugal, and Morocco gave them friends for a lifetime, portapotties, and a variety of historical experiencesssssssssssss. Turkey and Greece ended the Four Keys Overseas trips with culture, Greek Salad, and Streaking Sunny Shortspire. The Key family is now three as Jock and Fran are grown and have families of their own. In different combinations they have invaded over 50 countries, but as usual The First is the most memorable.

Author Information

Don Key, author of nonfiction/fiction travel humor, began his career in high school as president and commander in chief of the Pioneer Writers Club. His most eloquent, descriptive, appreciated work evolved from an unimportant regrettable incident provoked by the sponsor, Mr. Primprose. The resignation should have been enough, but no, three months of detention stifled his creative mind for the next 50 years. Ten years of back breaking work, thirty three years of mind numbing work, two unpublished books, and numerous accounts of travels later he collected his thoughts in an embellished account of the family's five overseas trips. Friends and relatives gave him two words of encouragement - You're Funny , or is that 3? Did they mean humorous or weird? Who better to describe his talent and character than his loving family? Lee Key declined comment but did offer a travel tip from 40 years of marriage and travel: Drink Coke - Not Water!!! Reference and recommendation from his son, Jock Key: My father is not as much of an embarrassment since my high school athletic career ended. After installing motion detectors, sirens, razor wire, and 3 restraining orders the daily incidents have diminished dramatically. As I and my children age a deeper understanding of his problems has emerged making me fearful of becoming like him. Explanation of family genes by his daughter, Fran Key: My father and I share many admirable qualities listed as: 1. We had the same last name before my marriage. Less admirable qualities include similar thinking, vocabulary, and personality. The X*@$#(*^X doctors misdiagnosed the X^(@#%X Torrettes's Syndrome which I never had, just PMS/Potty Mouth Syndrome. All the bull $%@X words I learned from my father along with the X*%@!*#X obnoxious behaviors. However, it is getting a lot X^$O)* %#@!X better. (Note: Editors please delete the above paragraph before publication) His references may be dated, but only because he's old, semi-senile, and hard of hearing. Stories of his rural childhood influence his travel accounts - not always in a positive way. Buying this book contributes nothing to his retirement as Social Security, his pension, the farm rent, and begging make him financially independent - for this year anyway.
