Excerpt from Forty-Third Annual Report of the Massachusetts Agricultural College: January, 1906 The year just passed, in spite of the great losses which have been referred to, must be characterized as one of prosperity and growth. The college has admitted to its present fresh man class the largest number ever enrolled in an entering class, 86. The sophomore class, now numbering 61 men, is also, it is believed, the largest sophomore class in our his tory. The total enrollment in the regular four - year courses at the present time is 213 men, and we have 8 post - graduate students. We have, therefore, a larger number of men in college at the present time taking regular and post-graduate courses than ever before in its history.
