Excerpt from Foreign Agriculture, Vol. 24: June 1960 This month the Foreign Agricultural Service observes its 30th anniversary, and in 2 years the us. Department of Agriculture will mark its first century of service to the American farmer. Comparatively speaking both count themselves as oldsters in the Government. But as Wayne D. Rasmussen, the Depart ment's historian, points out in his excellent history of our farm exports (see opposite page), American agriculture was in business nearly 250 years before the Congress set up an agricultural agency.
