Ian Fleming (1908-1964) was born in London and educated at Eton and Sandhurst. During World War II, he served in British Naval Intelligence, playing a key role in shaping the prototype CIA. His wide-ranging, fast-paced life would provide the backdrop for his beloved spy novels featuring the perennially charming James Bond. Samuel West's long and distinguished career on stage and screen has earned him roles in Cambridge Spies, Waking the Dead, Notting Hill, and Iris, as well as a BAFTA nomination for his performance in Howards End. He has also narrated several audio books, including Sebastian Faulks' Charlotte Gray, for which he won a Talkie Award, and Thomas Hardy's The Woodlanders.
