It is concise. To the point and the questions really help to brush up all the brushing up that is needed to update your knowledge. It addresses all the areas in the field of Psychiatry that are relevant, pertinent to a practicing clinician. Its main emphasis is on updates in psychopharmacology, dementia and related conditions, clinical advances in treatment of substance abuse/dependence, and HIV related issues etc. It, however also does not neglect psychotherapy advances in treating myriad psychiatric disorders. It does not waste your time and energy on topics that make very little or no appearance on the MOC exam in Psychiatry (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Neurology, Neuroanatomy and Neuro-imaging, Molecular Biology... etc). If there is a need for further clarification on a particular topic, PRN use of Kaplans' Synopsis of Psychiatry should suffice. It also has the added bonus of earning 40 Category A CME Credits at no additional cost. That makes it a financially sound investment in addition to being an almost, all you need resource to prepare and succeed in Psychiatry MOC exam. -- FA Dalpina, Amazon Reviewer , July 29, 2011 This is a great resource if the purpose of this purchase is to prepare well for Psychiatry MOC exam.
