OverviewFriday marks the end of Valerie Bell’s busy working week. It is a day when she can unwind with a plate of fish and chips and peas, followed by apple pie. In this book of poetry Valerie celebrates life’s simple pleasures as well as its setbacks. Its humour as well as its sadness. There is also a cautionary tale told in rhyme – ‘Santa’s Dilemma’ – which has a moral for us all to ponder on. Santa has been feeling the strain of his great responsibility towards children all over the world. He needs help to get over his grouchy feelings or Christmas will be ruined.
