Overview

"We are all wandering through life to get to know ourselves better, to understand our purpose in the world, and to respond to an inner calling we cannot fully describe or understand."" These are the words of author, Y.R. Lacska. This book takes us along on his personal hero's journey through the worlds of martial arts, qigong, psychology, and spirituality, as he gradually discovers his life's purpose. While this book doesn't provide the answers to life's questions, the author's informative and illustrative approach to sharing his insights, inspired by the wisdom of C.G. Jung, Joseph Campbell, and others, and enriched by his personal stories, provides an engaging, humorous, and poignant framework for reflecting on our own life, and struggling with our own questions and challenges. In reading this book, we learn that like the heroines, heroes, and wanderers in myths and stories, we don't know how our future will unfold, but if we learn to trust our hearts, the helpers along the way, and guidance from the transpersonal, we may just find our own way."

"""Not all who wander are lost!"" so said Tolkien's Strider and Y.R. Lacska confirms the wisdom of that counsel. Lacska's book is a spiritual adventure and heroic journey, that invites you to be an adventurer, too. He invites the reader to travel with him on his personal journey and in walking with him, you will discover the Spirit's presence in your own peregrinations. Joining theology, spirituality, and autobiography, this book will inspire your own holistic and heroic adventures. When I opened the book, I couldn't put it down. I saw my own journey in Lacska's journey, and I know you will find a fellow pilgrim in reading this book as well. It will be solved in the walking and Y.R. Lacska is a worthy companion on the way. Bruce Epperly, theologian, spiritual guide, pastor, and author of numerous books including ""The Elephant is Running: Process and Open and Relational Theology and Religious Pluralism.""There is an important dimension in qigong that is difficult to evaluate by Western science standards. This is the degree of one's ability to move energy. From the standpoint of my own experience, developed under Grandmaster Hong Liu, whose abilities have been documented scientifically at the University of Southern California, Y.R. Lacska displays an aptitude and energy ability of a quite advanced practitioner. Grandmaster Hong also taught him a practice that is only for those of advanced ability. Dr. Lacska also demonstrated his aptitude to me informally, as a consulting peer in clinical psychology offering very helpful suggestions on how to apply qigong in my work with the psychotherapy clients I was seeing at the time.-Lynn Thomas, PhDis a nonprofit organization and management consultant and a qigongand yoga instructor who holds a PhD in clinical psychology. In his book, Finding the Way: The Life of a Seeker, Y.R. Lacska offers the reader his Life Story in the presentation of insightful moments which have occurred in his life. Many of his stories seemed totally unconnected, only to be revealed later as inextricably linked. I have known and worked with Reverend Lacska in a partnership of Spiritual Care and Integrative Health Services. He embodied both spiritual ministry and holistic arts expertise. In his book, he reveals the enlightenment that can come from living an examined life. A life of both physical and philosophical wanderings helped him recognize that when the student is ready the teacher will indeed appear. He demonstrates that deep lessons can be excavated from the path that is our life, if one ""sits with"" all of life's experiences. He weaves together a tapestry of his life experiences, and in so doing, inspires each of us to ""sit"" with our own life stories with a beginner's mind but also as an open vessel.-Valerie Lincoln, PHD, RN, AHN-BCis an author and leader and in integrative health and holistic nursing practice."
