In 2018, he was honored with the UGC Gold Medal for publishing a high-impact journal article. Dr. Islam has contributed significantly to various universities worldwide, including the University of Malaya, the University of Johannesburg, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD).
