IGNACIO RAMONET (Redondela, 1943) es doctor en Semiología y profesor emérito de Teoría de la Comunicación en la Universidad de París-VII. Además es director de Le Monde diplomatique en español y fundador y presidente de honor del movimiento internacional altermundialista ATTAC (Asociación por la Tasación de las Transacciones financieras y por la Acción Ciudadana). Preside la red internacional de observatorios de medios Media Watch Global, y es uno de los creadores del Foro Social Mundial, para el que propuso el lema: «Otro mundo es posible».
