Reviews

The audience for this book is a narrow but influential group of business leaders with an interest in pursuing a proven strategy that allows their companies to expand globally. The entire methodology is organized into eight phases (books), that begins with starting such a program and works through such components as export markets, distribution networks, and market penetration. This book, Phase 8, focuses on developing a corporate global strategy and profile. Its five subsets begin with a discussion of the logical steps needed to achieve that objective followed by detailed worksheets that record the results. This organizational scheme makes the book a good resource for a strategic team, workshop, class, or retreat. The first subject identifies strategic buyers, markets, countries, and competitors. The definitions are succinct, easy to follow, and detailed. Additional subsets look into globalization forces, strategies, profiles, and results. The book admirably covers a lot of concepts in its pages. The three appendices elicit feedback for the next edition of the book, offer a cloud-based web tool, and provide alphabetized links to relevant websites. IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award Judge, 2022.
