OverviewExcerpt from Farm News Digest: April 1926 Total beef consumed in the United States reached the highest point on record during 1925, according to estimates by the department. The per capita consumption was pounds. The total per capita consumption of all meats, including beef and veal, mutton and lamb, and pork (except lard) for 1925 was 15m.3 pounds. Total meat consumption for the year, although lower than during the two years immediately preceding, was slightly higher than the average for the last five years. Decreased consumption of pork during the year, as compared with the unusually high years of 192h and 1923, was largely responsible for the drop in the total of meat consumed.
