He also promoted the Big Bend region as Executive Vice President of the Highway 90 Association, manager of the Alpine Chamber of Commerce, and owner of Koch Travel. June Cooper Price was a freelance writer who lived in Mesa, Arizona, when not on the road in an RV with her husband. She and her mother Etta Koch told the story of their family's move to Big Bend in Lizards on the Mantel, Burros at the Door: A Big Bend Memoir.
