Author Information

Bill Hoffman is a tour guide, teacher, and self-professed urban nerd. Ever since he spent his junior year in college in Madrid, Spain, Bill has never looked at cities the same way. His master's in urban planning and PhD in social ecology furthered his curiosity about special places. After retiring from 37 years of high school teaching and university lecturing, Hoffman formed Hoffy Tours, LLC -- an urban tour company whose motto is ""Discovering the Best in Cities."" Since 2012, he has created over 90 unique tours. During that time, Bill discovered that Southern California had more hidden gems and interesting history than he ever realized. This book is an outgrowth of that discovery and a chance to share with others these most special places.
