His major interests were the anatomical basis of cranial neurosurgery and the resulting advances in microsurgical techniques. In both fields he trained co-workers and he was giving anatomical training lectures at numerous neurosurgical departments. The training activities have been supported by brain dissections and by the drawings of Wolfgang Seeger, and became working basis for the 24 books he published.
