Reviews

It is funny, occasionally provocative, and filled with clinically relevant descriptions of the important diagnostic features of the major psychiatric syndromes.

An important component of the work regarding students and residents is that it leaves nothing to chance; important terms are clearly defined, and the facts are placed into a historical context, which helps the novice understand the evolution of the field . Excellent case descriptions bring the abstract concepts to life . [T]he information provided is relevant and to the point, with excellent instruments for clinicians to use in day-to-day practice It will be invaluable to students during an initial psychiatric experience. Overall, this is a readable, easy-to-understand, and helpful basic text for students, or refresher for practicing clinicians.
