He trained at the College of Medicine, Baghdad University, Iraq, and completed his obstetrics and gynaecology specialty training in the UK. He obtained his PhD in Reproductive Endocrinology from London University and has published widely in reproductive medicine and ultrasound, in which he developed a special interest. He was the Director of the ultrasound Masters’ programme at Cardiff University and is the CEO of Advanced Medical Simulation Online, an enterprise offering innovative solutions in remote skills training and distance-learning medical education and healthcare delivery. He is still active in clinical practice and continues with his contribution to global education. Saikat Banerjee, BSc, MB BS, FRCOG, DFFP, MSc is Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Cambridge University Hospitals; Co-Director for CEES-u (Cambridge Endometriosis and Endoscopic Surgery Unit), Cambridge, UK; and former Senior Lecturer, University of Surrey. He trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals, University of London.
