An enigmatic being called Crossfox, Emissary of the Court of Doors, places the crew under cosmic trial. Each mission is a test case in the moral evolution of the Concord: mercy, identity, reversibility, governance, freedom-and judgment. The crew's actions will decide whether humanity earns the right to wield the godlike Permission Keys, or proves too reckless to trust with them.
