Overview

While on vacation, Emily Windsnap finds herself swept up in an ancient prophecy as the New York Times bestselling series continues. Emily is headed to a tropical island for a relaxing vacation with friends and family. And this time, Emily promises her best friend, Shona, there will be absolutely no adventure--just plenty of fun. But somehow excitement always seems to find Emily, and before she knows it, she ends up on the other side of a powerful waterfall on a forgotten island no one else can get to. Well, no one that isn't a half-mer like Emily and her boyfriend, Aaron. The people who live on the island believe in a prophecy that foretells how they can be saved from an imminent, devastating earthquake--and this prophecy seems to revolve around Emily and Aaron, as well as a mysterious, mythic giant. Will they be able to find the giant--and fulfill the prophecy--before it's too late?

Author Information

Liz Kessler is the author of the bestselling series about Emily Windsnap, as well as the Philippa Fisher books. About Philippa Fisher and the Dream-Maker's Daughter, she says, ""For a few months, I couldn't decide what Philippa and Daisy's next adventure would be. So I got in my camper van, drove to the woods, and took lots of walks with pen and paper in hand--and finally the story emerged."" Liz Kessler lives in Cornwall, England. Lauren Irwin began her career on the prestigious stages of London's West End. By age nine she was cast in Annie (Victoria Palace) and Oliver (Theatre Royal), and had made her film debut in Heart (with Matthew Rhys and Rhys Iffans). More recently, she played a lead role in the movie Lingaa opposite Indian legend Superstar Rajinikanth, which broke box office records, and she recurred on Hallmark's The Eleventh, where she starred alongside the late Oscar winner Cloris Leachman. As a pop singer, Lauren began her career as part of British teen band Just 3 (HHO Records, Junior Eurovision runner up) and went on as a solo artist to release her self penned track ""Stand Tall"" (available on iTunes), which was chosen to become the official song for the Beijing Olympics. After the tragic Sichuan earthquake, she rereleased it in Mandarin as an earthquake relief fundraiser, and went on to tour China on behalf of the cause-at one point performing for a live broadcast to over 800 million people. A documentary was made about her work with child earthquake victims, titled Lauren's Journal and broadcast by MTV Asia. She was made Youth Ambassador to the United Nations. As a narrator, Lauren has recorded many titles, including the New York Times bestseller The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. She is an AudioFile Earphones Award winner, and is the voice of the world-famous Peppa Pig audiobook series.
