Overview

"Embrace Inverse Vibrations is a book about many things; but at its heart, it's an earnest search for a sense of purpose and connection in this big and baffling world. Humans have a longstanding tradition of turning to the ""power of myth"" - and in that spirit, the book is meant as a modern mythology that explores pressing questions about life, death, love, and our collective evolution. Every one of us is born; and every one of us will die. We will love; we will suffer. We will struggle; and we will triumph. Most of that is guaranteed, but exactly how much, how often, and in what order are open questions. By the end, we can only hope that there was something that made it all worth it. Rather than presume to have all the answers, the story is intended solely as a tool for us to keep asking some of the questions that matter most. Who are we? Why are we here? What does it mean to be alive? And to die? What is an individual? A society? What could they be? How can we ensure that cooperation triumphs over conflict? How should we engage with the broader world around us? Where do we come from? And where are we going? What is the fabled Meaning of Life? Let's try to find out. ------- From the Back Cover ------- A man with no name, memories, or emotions awakens on the shore of a bay, far to the north of Limbus. His purpose is much the same as our own, should we dare undertake it: to make sense of this often-senseless world. When serendipity frees him from the cycles of banality, it sends him hurtling down an unknown path into darkness, and the man has little choice but to start making choices. He meets people and creatures, both strange and yet entirely familiar; and they steer him to actions, both for good and for ill. The wise words of another guide him on, and when he learns of the author, it proves to be the most surprising insight of them all. The suns rise and set while the moons wax and wane Things will keep changing but still stay just the same From the dust of the atmosphere, you have appeared Fear not this kind fact, which your kind tends to fear ""An imaginative, thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be truly alive."" - Kirkus Reviews ""Embrace Inverse Vibrations is a science fiction odyssey about how all life is connected, and about the consequences of forgetting that fact."" - Foreword Clarion Reviews ""The book asks big questions and provides even bigger answers, offering enlightening and meaningful guidance for life..."" - IndieReader"

A man sets out on a journey through a surreal landscape in search of a sense of purpose in Chouinard's debut novel...Chouinard's prose is consistently stimulating and poses deep philosophical questions...fans of books such as Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist (1988) will find satisfaction in searching for the story's deeper meanings. Davis' journey from being 'a man with no name, thoughts, or memories' to realizing his own inner power proves compelling, and the novel's denouement will take many by surprise. An imaginative, thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be truly alive. - Kirkus Reviews A man with no past and no future goes on a fantastical journey of self-discovery in Adam James Chouinard's science fiction novel, Embrace Inverse Vibrations. After spending an eternity by the sea for reasons he never thought to question, Davis awakens to the possibility of more. He abandons his predictable existence in search of something he cannot begin to understand, at least not yet. He soon realizes that there is far more to his lonely world than he ever imagined. What began as an arduous but straightforward mission becomes a quest to save an entire realm - and himself...An array of unique settings add danger and excitement to Davis's journey. With each completed task, Davis learns more about himself and his responsibilities as a human. He fights against every lesson, but in the end, he learns the wisdom and value of each. Actions have consequences, not all of which can be undone. But being human is not about being perfect; it is about admitting your mistakes and doing all you can to atone for them...The book's ending might be viewed as happy, sad, both, or anywhere in between. This is a fitting conclusion: part of the story's appeal is its willingness to explore difficult issues and acknowledge that life is often too complicated to fully understand. This makes Embrace Inverse Vibrations a good choice for anyone who wants their science fiction to make them think. Embrace Inverse Vibrations is a science fiction odyssey about how all life is connected, and about the consequences of forgetting that fact. - Foreword Clarion Reviews Embrace Inverse Vibrations is an epic saga in which a man awakes in a mysterious world and embarks on a journey to achieve self-awareness and enlightenment...The book asks big questions and provides even bigger answers, offering enlightening and meaningful guidance for life...Recurring characters have personality traits that run deep and influence their dialogue, especially when conversing with Davis about philosophy...His musings are emotionally wrought and immersive. The language is explorative and meandering when appropriate for a thoughtful tone, and it is faster paced and provides more tactile descriptions in scenes of action to mirror the plot's urgency. With the surrealist adventure of Alice in Wonderland and the philosophical discussions of The Alchemist, Adam James Chouinard's Embrace Inverse Vibrations is a meandering and enlightening epic with an ambitious scope. - IndieReader Read the full reviews here https: //www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/adam-james-chouinard/embrace-inverse-vibrations/ https: //www.forewordreviews.com/reviews/embrace-inverse-vibrations/ https: //indiereader.com/book_review/embrace-inverse-vibrations/
