La obra intenta dar a conocer los motivos que llevaron a NapoleÃ3n Luis Eugenio Bonaparte, un prÃ-ncipe francÃ(c)s en el exilio, a luchar de lado de la antigua enemiga de Francia, Inglaterra, y por quÃ(c) muriÃ3 tras ser abandonado por su escolta. Para ello, se cuenta la historia de su ilustre apellido y posteriormente el conflicto que enfrentÃ3 a britànicos y zulðes donde este perderÃ-a la vida. En este ðltimo apartado, y a diferencia de otros libros del autor que analizan batallas de ese conflicto como Isandlwana o Rorke's Drift, ahora se introduce una imagen màs global de toda la guerra. Por otra parte, la obra muestra al lector la vida en la corte de las TullerÃ-as, asÃ- como la polÃ-tica imperial de NapoleÃ3n III y su caÃ-da, hasta lo màs profundo del à frica negra.

Author Information

The author is a journalist and executive of the Antena 3 communications group as well as regional direct of the radio channel Onda Cera in Murcia. During the last two decades he has studied and covered the battlefields of southern Africa and, in doing so, has become one of the leading experts on this topic in the Spanish language. He talks about his experiences in this field in conferences and through newspaper and magazine articles. He has authored several books, which have become best-sellers both in and outside of Spain: Zulu: The Battle of Isandlwana, Blood of the Valiant: Seven Heroic Battles, Isandlwana: The Bitter Victory, and Rorke's Drift: The Immortal Anglo-Zulu War. For Nowtilus, he has written the book, The True History of King Solomon's Mines. He contributes weekly to the radio program Herrera en la Onda.
