El encarnizamiento médico con las mujeres es un homenaje a la mujer que enferma y sobrevive a médicos, pruebas, cirugías y medicamentos excesivos; y a la mujer que, sin estar enferma, se ve sometida a procesos innecesarios, como les ocurre por ejemplo a la mayoría de las embarazadas. Author Information

Maria Pérez-Fernández studied Medicine at the University of Valladolid where she obtained a degree in Childcare and Occupational Medicine. She was a professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain) and has worked as a specialist in Internal Medicine and a family doctor. In 2010 she retired to dedicate herself to teaching and research. She is responsible for ethics at the Spanish Primary Care Network and at NoGracias. Juan Gérvas is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Valladolid and worked as a family doctor until his retirement. He is the author of the trilogy Sano y salvo, La expropiación de la salud, and El encarnizamiento médico con las mujeres, together with Mercedes Pérez-Fernández.
