Español Este libro presenta formas para examinar el cumplimiento de un gobierno con los derechos de los ciudadanos, tanto como individuos, así como partes de una comunidad o sociedad. Como consecuencia de ese examen, realizado a múltiples gobiernos a través del tiempo, se sugieren los cambios estructurales y de actitud que harían a los gobiernos más útiles y más eficientes, y a la población más consciente de su responsabilidad en la determinación de sus destinos. Es una manera de convocar y entusiasmar al ciudadano para que reconozca y utilice su poder político en impulsar las ideas que, colectivamente, sirvan para lograr sus ideales de vida; para corregir lo que haga falta; y para dispersar esos sentimientos de impotencia y frustración que pudiera albergar ante aquellas poderosas maquinarias gubernamentales que no estén identificadas con los intereses y las aspiraciones del ciudadano común. En él se consideran y discuten: Las opiniones, los reclamos, la familia, la educación, la producción, la designación de directivos, los partidos políticos, los militares, la Constitución y el ciudadano. El libro está dirigido a los que les interesa la política y, en especial, para aquellos que piensen en su futuro y en el de sus hijos y nietos. A los que no les interesa la política, les da razones para cambiar de opinión. English The book presents ways to analyze the behavior of government with regard to the rights of citizens as individuals and as members of a community or society. As a consequence of this analysis structural and attitude changes that will allow governments to be more useful and more efficient and citizens more aware of their responsibility in the determination of their destinies. It is a way to summon and encourage the citizen to recognize and use his (her) political power to foster those ideas that, collectively, are useful to achieve one's life ideals; to correct or repair what has to be corrected; and to distance themselves from the feelings of impotence and frustration that they may have before those powerful machineries of governments that are not close to the interests and aspirations of the common citizen. The main points that are considered and discussed are: Opinions, complaints, the family, education, designation of people to high government offices, political parties, the military, the Constitution, and the citizen. The book is addressed to those that are interested in politics and, especially, to those that are worried about their future and that of their children and grandchildren. For those that are not interested in politics, it gives them reasons to change their minds.
