Dr. Nowsheen Sharmin Purabi is a Gynecologist, writer, teacher, researcher and devoted health awareness activist. She has been serving laboriously for more than one decade to provide door step health services for the women and to build up health awareness among them. Most probably she is the first physician of the country who could be able to send the required messages of health awareness to the interior localities of the country in combined utilization of the mass media, social media and information technology. She is the planner and presenter of the popular women's health awareness TV show 'Tonumon' [Mind and Body] in National Broadcasting Media 'Bangladesh Television'. She provides free medical advice in popular social media sites Facebook and YouTube in the name 'Dr. Purabi's Help Desk'. Focused area of her work are reproductive health, adolescent health, respectful maternity care, safe motherhood, family planning, prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, nutrition, mental health and first aid.The field level health workers and medical students are also benefited by her writing, articles and lectures on health issues attached in the web portal. She is the Brand Ambassador of Microsoft, the world famous technology affairs company, member of International Exchange Alumni (Government Organization of US) and one of the top 10 Health Awareness Activist listed by 'LinkedIn', the largest professional networking site of the world. She has been working to establish women empowerment side by side with ensuring good health for all. She is married and mother of a daughter.
