Author Information

Chris Gough started teaching at the school in London where he did his CELTA (Marble Arch Intensive English) a long, long time ago. Like most of us, Chris’s aim was to travel and soon enough went out to Valencia, where he taught for a couple of years. After coming back to London and worked again for M.A.I.E. Chris did his DELTA and worked for a while as ADOS. Chris also started to get involved with teacher training for the first time. He missed Spain a lot though, and in 1992 he went out with his girlfriend (now my wife) to Granada, a city he had fallen in love with during an earlier visit. Chris worked as a DOS for a year and then took over the running of the school for a second year. Though he loved everything about Spanish life, he wouldn't say that he really enjoyed the stress of running his own school, particularly in a part of the world where competition is so fierce, and decided to come back to Britain in 1994. Currently Chris is enjoying being back in the classroom, at the chalk face so to speak. He is working for Study Group in Hove, though we will soon be moving to a very swanky site in the centre of Brighton. His little girl starts school in September and he is very much looking forward to teaching until lunch time and then spending the afternoon doing lots of healthy open air things.
