Overview

This book analyses the development of Environmental Education projects carried out in the 2nd Cycle of Primary Education at Alfa School, part of the Municipal Education Network of Catu-BA, highlighting their contribution to the formation of responsible environmental awareness and the relationship between these projects and the socio-environmental problems of the school community and its surroundings. Environmental education has emerged as a necessity in contemporary societies, with the goal of promoting a praxis that goes beyond the ecological dimension, enabling a contextualised view that provides an awareness of the multiple perspectives on environmental problems and their interfaces with social practices and, above all, educational practices that, at Alfa School, focus on responsible awareness of environmental education, whose initiatives must be based on an interdisciplinary approach, so that each individual and the community can participate actively and responsibly.
